Happy New Year?

So far this year it has been very testing time in my life, I can honestly say it has been the hardest time yet. Losing everything I have ever had has been so hard! an incredibly testing time with myself, my surroundings and with God.

No matter what I go through I am a strong believer of "..if God brought you to it, he will bring you through it." and i haven’t questioned my faith in this situation (who am I to question God anyway).I know these things happen for a reason and I know my God cares about me more than anyone in this world.

His love for me always brings me back down to earth and makes me remember what is important in life.

John 15:12-14 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. TNIV
I got some great advice from many people but my little sister said to be grateful for the things that I do have:
  • I still have my clothes, in saying this buying a new wardrobe would be cool :)

  • I have all my framed pictures which are extremely important to me, I am all about capturing those moments :)

  • annnnd my Alf. Alf was like my comfort toy that in some cases I couldn’t sleep without, once when I was younger I went to my grandparents and when I went up there I would stay for like the entire school holidays (2 weeks) and I forgot him. My nana was trying to help and gave me like a doll that was really like a toilet roll cosy thing.. I got Alf couriered up to me the next day. He is 21 like me (my first gift I was given after I was born) and where ever I go..he goes :) he has been to Australia and Bali. I’m so grateful I still have him.

I’m blessed to have awesome family and friends who have been such an awesome support.
The Huberians are God sent!

So I still look forward to what the rest of the year will bring!
Going to blog more as well, back in the habit!

He looks scary I know lol. ♥ Alf

So... me and 2010

This year was actually a really great year! I had what I think one of the best years of my life. I actually can even tick a few things off my 2010 new year resolutions.

I travelled to 4 different places, that I had never been to before..
  • Tairua (thanks Dan!)

  • Raglan, (Petes home town) this was one of the coolest group trips we all went on. We went to so many places in one day. Awesome time management guys :)

  • Mangawai ( Murphs Uncles Place) This was a great lil break away from the city!

  • Palmerston North (Johnstons new home town) This was a cool trip. 6 hour drive with Adam and Jess...was actually really cool :)

A few other highs...

  • My 21st! Had the best 21st with my close family and friends.

  • Getting to know Jesses family better :) always in for laughs at Huber.

  • Storm 2010, lil sis Janelle gave her life! The best choice you can ever make. Was an epic camp.

  • Getting Bash! Finally got a lil kitten. He’s such a character and always makes me smile.

In the MEDIA

Weddings..

Nicole Ritchie and Joel Madden
These guys are so cute! I am in love with Nicole’s dress as well.

Engagements..

Prince William and Kate, cutest engagement picture ever! It’s like they never spent any time apart. I also like how Wills kept the same kinda ring as his Mums, aww.

Break ups

Scar Jo and Ryan Renolds
It is sad when any marriage ends..but c'mon Mr Ryan Renolds is back on the market, that can never be a bad thing :)

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens
This actually was really sad :( I wasn’t a huge fan of the HSM series but knowing they were together even after the cameras was really cool. They should of got married!  " can I have this dance...."

My body...your body..

Kelly Osbourne
She looks really good now and I don’t know if it’s just me but her fashion sense has upgraded quite a bit.

Love your coast!

Recently I was privileged enough to go on this awesome field trip with my fantastic school to Rangitoto Island for a huge clean up.

At first I wasn’t very excited because I got told at like 10pm and had done pretty much an all nighter the night before. Being knackered and having to wake up at 6:00am was not my idea of going on a fun field trip with kids I didn’t really know.

ANYWAY..

I got to school early as and got onto the bus, didn’t really talk to anyone, not even the teachers. Then another dilemma.. I was wearing jandels... I mean c'mon... jandels + Rangitoto volcanic rock areas do not work. At all! Trying to look on the positive side I had to appreciate the weather and this island that I have never been on before and! I was really looking forward to doing something that would benefit this island and the animals around it. The kids lifted my buzz; some had never been on a ferry before. It was really rewarding seeing there smiley faces.

The funny thing was this Maori television crew was following us around called Miharo? The presenter was really cool but it was very awkward doing takes and takes of just walking past a camera. The really rewarding thing was all the rubbish that the students and teachers had picked up. We where all allocated to a part of the island and we had about 20 students and 5 teachers total, we filled like 10 bags of rubbish like huge rubbish bags. We found glass and so much house hold rubbish; did I say this was all on the coast?

We really need to think about our environment!

On the way home, I was on a total high! Spending a few hours picking up rubbish really made a change, even if it was small. The kids got so much out of it and it was great to see them so involved and plus I made some new friends :)

Things that I like and dont like right now..

Fashion:

Rachel Zoe: I love Rachel Zoe, she is the best stylist! Everything she puts on to her clients are perfection, the cool thing about Rachel is that she did not have any formal fashion training, just her pure sense of style has got her this far. She is set to release her own fashion next year. Looking forward to it.

rodger vivier

Feathers! These feather gloves are really cute and make such a statement. Found on Rachel Zoe's website
Music:
Love! The Script. Xmas present anyone? "For the first time"
The Good Fun:  The Good Fun are the winners of the 2010 Smokefreerockquest National Final. There latest song “Naughty lil sin” is really funky, kind of like The Naked and Famous meets Goodnight Nurse? Very cool lads from Waikato.

Don’t like: Has anybody heard the ridiculous remake of the classic Dirty Dancing theme song "Time of my life" by the Black Eyed Peas? I understand the "make it your own" aspect but this song sounds c-r-a-z-y, bet it will be big? I’m not even a BEP hater, I love them, but c'mon guys...don’t mess with the classics.

                    vs

Cee lo Green: Sorry I cant get around this song.. Gnarls Barkey  maybe..but not this. ECK!

T.V:

X-Factor Australia: Love X Factor. Apart from the annoying voice over introduction to each act and the dramatic entrance of the judges it’s a great show. Love Altiyan & Luke and Joel.

Outrageous Fortune: Farewell Outrageous Fortune.. I haven’t watched OF for the 6 seasons it did run but for the last two seasons I did get into it. Will be sadly missed, good ol' kiwi classic.

Dont Like: 8 Simple Rules: Its not that I hate this show, I quite enjoy it. The other day the episode played when the father Paul, played by John Ritter passed away. What made it even worse is he died in real life. His last blog/article on the show was a priceless moment; there certainly wasn’t a dry eye in the room, even though it was just me at my place balling my eyes out lol. Makes you think how short life can be and that any day could be our last, made me appreciate everything I have in my life and the constant blessings that God  pours onto me and everyone around me.

People:
Demi Lavoto: She is going through some intense stuff (according to the media?) I love Miss Lavoto who in my opinion has an enormous amount of talent; I respect anyone who works through problems that they struggle with. Go hard Demi! There always is light on the other side

Breaking Dawn

I am so happy to have finally finished Breaking Dawn! As a loyal Twilight fan the book totally was worth the late night reads and slight exhaustion the next day. Stephenie Meyer is awse. The book finished perrrfectly leaving me in an "awww" expression for a few minutes. The Twilight Saga has been a true love story. Bella and Edward ftw.

" Now you know. No one’s ever loved anyone as much as I love you.
Bella Cullen, Breaking Dawn.
